New York Passes the

Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act

(FAPA)

On December 30th, 2022, Governor Hochul signed the Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act into law. If you own or inherited a property in New York that has been in foreclosure for at least 6 years, you may qualify to have your case dismissed and the mortgage removed from your property. The legislation insures the fair application of the 6-year statute of limitations in foreclosure actions. Qualified homeowners can get a free legal review of their foreclosure litigation from the Law Office of Andrew Shlomovich by completing the form on this page.
